Setting Starts or Stops in SmartMusic
You can set where the works starts playing by changing the information in the bottom line of the SM play module. REHEARSAL MARK will show the various movements (or rehearsal letters) if there are any - if not, it will only list “Beginning” & “go to end”.
You can change the BAR and BEAT by using the up & down triangles or typing in a new number.
If you change where a piece begins, you might also want to change how it starts (see
set a count in
).
You create a practice loop by changing the point at which a piece will stop.
You can set where the works stops playing by clicking “LOOP” and changing the information in the right side bottom line of the SM module. Your choice will be limited to after the point where you have set the work to begin (if you have changed it). REHEARSAL MARK will show the various movements (or rehearsal letters) if there are any - if not, it will only list “Beginning” & “go to end”. You can change the BAR and BEAT by using the up & down triangles or typing in a new number.
A practice loop will play the defined area, then stop, give a one bar count in and play again - forever! (or until you click “Stop”) Use the up (or down) arrow to change the tempo.
Unfortunately you can not change the tempo during the count in, set a longer (i.e., 2 or 4 bar) count in, or have the tempo automatically increase. All of these would be very useful features that people should request from SM (hint, hint).
